Max at night“Maxwell Bloom like a half forgotten tune, walks the street beneath a cloudy day.       A man out of season, a force beyond reason, searching for a past that got away.”

So begins the theme song for an unfinished film Lost Angeles about a hard boiled detective searching the present for clues to his identity from the past. Max’s untold story would ultimately provide the genesis for the café named in his honor – Max Bloom’s Café Noir.

So somewhere in downtown Fullerton (California USA) there is this 1940’s/50’s themed coffeehouse called Max Bloom’s Café Noir. Owned by Kevin.

Full-Shot-NoirHe tells rockabilly online: We have always been fascinated by all things 40’s/50’s and decided to open a coffeehouse with a film noir/beatnik type vibe the way coffeehouses originally were in the middle of the century. Our idea was to create a place where all forms of art could be expressed, we have weekly movie nights, open mic nights for music and poetry, stand up comedy and live music. We have a food and coffee menu in addition to movies, books, records and cds, pin up and movie posters for sale.
