I listened to their title song on soundcloud and it sounded very good to me. I like the rhythm and blues influences with the harmonica mixed with rockabilly, so let’s see what this band is all about.

Tell us about the band

Shaking Bones were formed in London in 2014 when Luca Scaggiante met Loris Peverani at Tech Music School. Initially the band was a rockabilly/swing duo (drums, guit/vocals), then the two came across Garry Tyrrell Lynch, slapping double bass player, and began gigging all over the place as a more-aggressive trio.

If rockabilly is the main ingredient, we would liberally mix it up with the aggression of punk rock, the danceable lightness of ska and rocksteady with a strong blues influence.

You released an album “Gimme some more”.

Most of the songs we play in live concerts are originals, written and arranged by Shaking Bones and are made of personal experience of simple everyday life that surrounds us, such as booze nights, love stories (often gone bad) and our passion for rock’n’roll.

In 2014 we recorded the EP “Gimme Some More” for Rollin Records. The EP is made of  5 tracks: Gimme Some More, Locos, Reconsider, Pepperoni, and You Lied all characterized by a 50’s idea twisted into a faster and energetic modern style, with no fear for using different chord-sequences than the classic rockabilly-based structure.

What is important to you?

Stage fun is always a must, we always have loads of fun, since we’re good friends in life. Though this doesn’t affect our precision on well played music. We like our stuff to not be the simple rock’n’roll garbage-sounding standards, heard a thousand times around.

Do you like other styles than rockandroll?

We love and listen to pretty much any style of music from electronic to metal but also jazz, funk and reggae.

Is there an artist you would like to work with in future?

We hope one day we’ll get the chance to play with bands such as the Reverend Horton Heat, Necromantix, or Imelda May but we love to collaborate with as many bands as we can.

Tell us a fun story about your band or gig.

Well, summer 2015, we are gigging in the south of France and have to leave early in the morning (5:30!) and get on the road with our van through the whole country (we had to be in nottingham 2 days later). So we get into our hotel room at 2 in the night and surprise! A super-fast flying bat spinning round and round in our room. We tried in vain to get the bat out of there for almost one hour nearly destroying the room. 3 naked drunk silly men trying to get rid of such a small thing. He won, and we slept with him. 2 hours against a 17 hour journey to the midlands of UK.

What are your future plans?

We’re working on our next album, hopefully collaborating with an overseas label from the US. Still top-secret for now. And yeah, basically we wanna make people sweat all around the world with our music.

Finish this sentence: We will never ever

… drink Sprite with risotto…wine please.
